Summer Road Closures
Simonswood Parish Council has received the following road closure notifications from West Lancashire Borough Council and Lancashire County Council.

SMITHY LANE:
Lancashire County Council consider it necessary or expedient by reason of works being executed on the following length of road that the prohibition should come into force without delay under Section 14(2)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this Notice.
No person shall cause any class of traffic to proceed over that length of Smithy Lane, Scarisbrick from approximately its junction with A570 Southport Road to outside property number 45 Smithy Lane. The prohibition will be operative from 0900 hours on Friday 27th June 2025 until 1630 hours on Tuesday 1st July 2025 or until completion of the works within this period.
A diversion will be signed locally. The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow excavation works to be carried out.
MIDDLE MEANGATE, TARLTON
Lancashire County Council consider it necessary or expedient by reason of works being executed on the following length of road that the prohibition should come into force without delay under Section 14(2)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this Notice.
No person shall cause any class of traffic to proceed over that length of Middle Meanygate, Tarleton at its junction with Bolton’s Meanygate, Tarleton. The prohibition will be operative from 0935 hours to 1630 on Wednesday 25th June or until completion of the works within this period.
A diversion will be signed locally. The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow works to rectify defective reinstatement causing hazard in the carriageway to be carried out.
A570 ST HELENS ROAD, ORMSKIRK
Lancashire County Council have made an Order under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this notice.
No person shall cause any class of traffic to proceed over that length A570 St Helens Road, Ormskirk from it junction with A570 Moor Street for a distance of 50 metres in a southerly direction.
Nothing in this order shall apply to persons engaged in the carrying out of the works.
The prohibition will be operative from 1601 hours on Monday 23rd June until 1630 hours on Tuesday 8th July 2025 or until completion of the works within this period. Access for emergency services will be maintained whenever and wherever possible.
Vehicular access for residents will be maintained whenever and wherever possible. Pedestrian access to properties will always be maintained.An alternative route for ular traffic affected by the closure will be locally signed.The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow urgent water repair works to continue.
